Brooke Shields Sues Charlotte Tilbury, Major Retailers Over "Brooke S" Eyebrow Pencil

Sephora, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's and Neiman Marcus are among the defendants.

Brooke Shields is suing some of the beauty industry's biggest brands, claiming they are unfairly profiting from her iconic eyebrows.

The model-turned-actress on Wednesday sued Charlotte Tilbury Beauty and a host of retailers claiming they are capitalizing on her fame by selling an eyebrow pencil in a shade called "Brooke S," which she says "undoubtedly attracts consumers hoping to emulate her signature look."

Shields says she's spent decades developing her public image and has "carefully curated" her business and endorsement deals.

"From the beginning of her career, Shields's [sic] bold eyebrows have been the trademark of her look and a target for endorsements and collaborations," writes attorney Alex Weingarten in the complaint.

Shields hasn't endorsed any brow-related products since a 2014 line with MAC Cosmetics, and says she was "shocked" to see a Charlotte Tilbury eyebrow pencil with her name on it. She says the company never requested permission to use her name for its Brow Lift pencil.

Shields is suing for violation of her rights of publicity and is seeking disgorgement of profits, plus damages.

Retail defendants include Beautylish, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale's, J.C. Penney, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Sephora and YNAP.
